PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

First Sergeant Tim Grier was born in Korea and was raised in Fallston, Maryland. He is a graduate of Calvert Hall High School. He began his military service by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps and attended Marine Corps Recruit Training at Parris Island, South Carolina. After completion of Recruit Training and subsequent training, First Sergeant Grier reported to Engineer Platoon, 10th Marine Regiment in October of 1992.


His follow-on assignments consisted of:

  • Company B, 2nd Tank Battalion, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina

  • Marine Corps Detachment, Armor Training Company, Fort Knox, Kentucky

  • Company C & D, 2nd Tank Battalion, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina w/ deployments to the Republic of Georgia, and Iraq

Weapons Instructor, Platoon Sergeant, Platoon Commander, Operations Chief 

1st Platoon, 2nd Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team (2F1 FAST), Yorktown, Virginia w/ deployments to Ghana, Africa, Israel, and Spain

First Sergeant Grier qualified in several Military Occupational Specialties and served in a wide variety of jobs while on active duty to include: Engineer (Electrician), Tank Mechanic and Crewman, and served as a section leader, platoon sergeant, platoon commander, operations chief and instructor with various Marine Corps units. 

Additionally, he earned an Associates degree from the American Military University (APUS). He is a certified Search and Rescue and Wilderness First Aid Instructor through the National Association of Search and Rescue (NASAR) and a Red Cross Certified CPR/ AED/ BLS instructor.
