WHO WE ARE

The Winter Park Navy Junior Officer Training Corps Program is one of over 600 NJROTC programs nationwide. The NJROTC program was established by Public Law in 1964 and may be found in Title 10, U.S. Code, Chapter 102. The NJROTC curriculum emphasizes leadership development, as well as maritime heritage, the significance of sea power, and naval topics such as the fundamentals of naval operations, seamanship, navigation and meteorology.

Winter Park's NJROTC program offers a unique curriculum among the JROTC community by offering courses in association with Embry Riddle Aeronautical University & Unmanned Safety Institute in which Cadets have the opportunity to earn their commercial sUAS (small Unmanned Aircraft Systems) pilot's license.

Beginning in SY2021-2022 our program will be offering NJROTC Core+ by adding a Survival- Search and Rescue curriculum in association with the National Association for Search and Rescue (NASAR). Cadets have the opportunity to earn their Search and Rescue Technician III through this course. Additionally, our Cadets can earn their Wilderness First Aid certification though our Cadre Leadership program.
