LTJG Sarah Brown, USN
Military Medicine
LTJG Sarah Brown is a dedicated Pediatric Registered Nurse currently serving aboard the USNS Comfort. She previously worked at Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center as a Charge Nurse in the medical-surgical and pediatric ward. A graduate of Belmont University, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2023 and is licensed in Tennessee. Sarah has experience in diverse patient care, leadership roles, and evidence-based practice research. She has presented her research to the TriService Nursing Research Program, leading to the implementation of improved wound care evaluation systems and patient safety initiatives. She holds multiple certifications, including PALS, TNCC, and TCCC

Mr. Dylan Curtis
Fire/ Rescue
Dylan J. Curtis is a dedicated Firefighter/EMT with the New Smyrna Beach Fire Department since 2020. He serves on a 3-man engine/truck company and a 2-man ambulance, responding to all emergency fire and medical calls and transporting patients to emergency facilities. Dylan has received extensive training and certifications, including Firefighter 1&2, wildland fire certification, and advanced fire/rescue training through the One Bad Tour program. He has been recognized for his leadership and high physical fitness scores during his training.
In addition to his firefighting experience, Dylan served as a US Army Ranger with the 1/75 Ranger Battalion from 2013 to 2016, participating in special operations missions and combat deployments. He holds accolades such as the Joint Commendation Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge.

Dylan is also the Principal and Founder of Brigands Co., an e-commerce brand that specializes in subcontracting special operations veterans for film and TV projects. His commitment to emergency services is further demonstrated by his role as a Cadre member for the One Bad Tour advanced fire/rescue program.

Dylan's background includes high-rise building rappelling experience and a strong knowledge of tactical combat casualty care and weapons training. He holds an Associates of Arts degree from Daytona State College.

Ms. Lynne Drawdy
Disaster Emergency Medical Response
Lynne Drawdy is a seasoned leader with over 40 years of experience in state government, specializing in public health, disaster preparedness, and quality management. She currently serves as Executive Director of the Central Florida Disaster Medical Coalition, where she supports health and medical communities in disaster response and recovery. Previously, Lynne held leadership roles in the Florida Department of Health and Florida Department of Children and Families, driving strategic planning initiatives in emergency medical operations, public health preparedness, and injury prevention. She is a Six Sigma Green Belt with extensive training in process management and project leadership, and has been an active member of professional organizations such as the Florida Sterling Council and the Florida Public Health Association. Her contributions have earned her multiple awards, including the Florida Public Health Association Meritorious Service Award and the Florida Sterling Council Award for Extraordinary Service.

Erin Hicks
Hospital Emergency Management
Erin Hicks serves as a Corporate Emergency Management Specialist for Orlando Health, and focuses on exercises, after-action reports, and improvement plans for hospitals, freestanding emergency departments, skilled-nursing facilities, and medical office buildings. During incidents, Erin provides support to Hospital Incident Command teams to help ensure patient, team member, and visitor safety is maintained at Orlando Health facilities. She has responded to water supply failures, mass casualty incidents, hazmat incidents, and severe weather during her time with Orlando Health. Erin obtained her BS degree in Biological Sciences from Florida State University and received an MPH from the University of South Florida with a concentration in Global Disaster Preparedness, Humanitarian Relief, and Homeland Security. She has also earned the Certified in Public Health (CPH) credential, demonstrating her ability to uphold scientific standards and professional values in public health practices.

Dr. Mitch Maulfair, DO
Program Medical Director
Dr. Mitchell Dean Maulfair, DO, is a highly experienced Emergency Medicine Physician and CEO of Jacob Medical Advisors, with nearly three decades of expertise in patient care, hospital leadership, and EMS medical direction. He serves as Medical Director for multiple institutions, including AdventHealth Winter Park Emergency Department and Winter Park Fire Department, overseeing clinical operations and emergency response initiatives. A dedicated educator, he holds faculty appointments at Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine and Nova Southeastern University, contributing to medical education and training. Dr. Maulfair has played a pivotal role in disaster response, serving as Medical Director for Florida’s Disaster Medical Assistance Team (FL DMAT-6), and has influenced patient safety and clinical standards through committee leadership. Board-certified in both Emergency Medicine and Family Practice, he continues to advance emergency medical care through innovation, mentorship, and strategic healthcare leadership.

Professor Cricket Moore
Post-Secondary EMS Education
Professor Cricket Moore is a tenured EMS professor and veteran educator with over 25 years of experience training and mentoring future emergency medical professionals. As an EMT Program Manager and EMS Professor, she has guided hundreds of EMT and Paramedic interns through rigorous, hands-on training aligned with national accreditation standards. Passionate about curriculum development, immersive learning, and professional mentorship, she has led the development of practical, student-centered EMS training programs that prepare students for real-world emergencies. She holds a Master of Science in Emergency Management and is currently ABD (All But Dissertation) in her Ph.D. program in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security. A former U.S. Army combat medic, Cricket is dedicated to advancing EMS education through public speaking, committee leadership, and disaster response training. She has participated in more than 25 full-scale mass casualty incident drills with state, federal, and community partners, integrating practical experience and academic excellence into EMS instruction. Her commitment to student success, community resilience, and professional development continues to shape the future of emergency medical services.

Ms. Sai Oicata
Emergency Planning
Paramedicine
Sai Oicata is an accomplished project manager, paramedic, and instructional designer specializing in emergency preparedness, healthcare operations, and paramedicine education. With over a decade of experience in disaster resilience, crisis management, and EMS instruction, Sai has led emergency response initiatives and secured $1.5M in grants to enhance public safety programs. As an Emergency Preparedness Planner III at the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council, Sai has developed award-winning exercise designs, including the Voting Power: Regional Tabletop Exercise, recognized by the 2024 Aliceann Wohlbruck NADO Impact Award. In paramedicine, Sai has served in hospital emergency departments, EMS field operations, and student preceptorships, helping train the next generation of emergency responders. A Master of Emergency and Crisis Management candidate at UCF, Sai holds multiple certifications in Incident Command, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Trauma Life Support, reflecting a dedication to community resilience, paramedicine, and disaster response innovation.

Mr. Jason Tartalone
Wilderness/ Austere EMS and Medicine
Jason Tartalone is a paramedic, combat medic veteran, educator, and EMS leader with over 19 years of experience in emergency medical services and 12 years in the U.S. Army. As the owner of Sergeant Rescue Training & Consulting, he specializes in tactical and wilderness medicine education, developing training programs for EMS, military, and rescue personnel. Jason has mentored and instructed countless EMS professionals, serving as a core instructor in EMT and paramedic education and contributing to curriculum development in tactical, wilderness, and austere medicine. His military background includes deployments to Afghanistan and international independent medic duties, where he managed critical care in extreme environments and led combat medical training programs. A fellow in Wilderness and Extreme Medicine, Jason has played a key role in educational leadership, serving on the Board of Directors for the National Association for Search & Rescue, overseeing wilderness emergency care education, and co-authoring Wilderness EMS 2nd Edition. His dedication to training, mentorship, and advancing EMS education continues to impact emergency response, rescue operations, and disaster preparedness worldwide.
