Meet our Instructor Staff

Tim Grier 

Tim Grier is a dedicated emergency medical, search and rescue, and emergency response instructor, as well as a Navy JROTC instructor at Winter Park High School. After 22 years of service in the U.S. Marine Corps, he transitioned into education and emergency medical services, founding and leading the Emergency Planning and Response Sciences (EPRS) program for Orange County Public Schools. As the primary instructor for the Emergency Medical Response Program (EMRP), he prepares students for careers in emergency medicine, healthcare, and disaster response. In addition to his teaching role, Tim serves as an Emergency Medical Technician at AdventHealth Winter Park Emergency Department, delivering critical patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Ms. Najwa Weaver

RN, BSN

Najwa Weaver is a Registered Nurse with extensive experience in emergency care. She currently works at Orlando Regional Medical Center and is actively enrolled in a BSN program. Before becoming a nurse, Najwa served as a CNA for four years. She is skilled in assessments, medication administration, delegation, and collaboration with healthcare teams. Najwa is passionate about patient safety and improving nursing practices through innovative projects like the Emergency Nursing Pocket Guide.

Her education includes a BSN from the University of Florida, an ADN from Daytona State College, and an Associates of Arts in Nursing from Seminole State College. Najwa holds certifications in AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.

Najwa has also volunteered with RunDisney and Winter Park High School EPRS, where she triaged runners, assessed them during races, provided emergency care, and mentored students in various healthcare disciplines.
